2020

When I think of 2020, I think of a year with many hardships that can't be helped nor controlled. There's not a day go by where I don't think about that pain. But I've learned to move forward with my life, even if the pain is still there lingering around my mind. When good things happened to you, you finally start to think you're able to relax but that's never the case. Something will happen sooner or later. However, I am thankful for my friends that I made this year who've helped through the rough times earlier this year. I'm truly grateful to have them a part of my life and journey.
2020 has been one of the biggest roller coaster rides. Many people experienced; cancellation of major events, postponing of graduations, businesses being affected by the virus, and lives being taken away left to right. 2020 was supposed to be "our" year. A year where we feel good about ourselves, accomplish many of our goals, travel all around the world, and visit friends you haven't seen for a very long time. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. 2020 consists of painful and sad moments. The pain feels like it's never going to stop, like losing part of your soul. Many individuals have probably lost motivation to complete the goals that they've set earlier this year because of the virus and it's truly unfortunate for that motivation to be stripped away in a few months. In hindsight, however, this year wasn't all bad, it allowed us to bond with our families, friends online, and create stronger relationships. Whether it was through spending countless hours watching shows, playing video games, or walking outside. However, staying inside the house every day can be quite boring sometimes. Many people prefer to go out than staying at home doing the same thing over and over again. These types of people love to explore the world and interact with their friends in person because that's the kind of person they are.
In conclusion, 2020 may not be the best year for everyone so far, but it's a year where we come together and learn what's going on around the world by voicing our opinions on a conflict that has been an issue for centuries now.  It’s also a year where we are coming together by educating ourselves and fighting for what’s important. Never let your voices be ripped from you. Never let your hatred get the best of you nor have your hatred cloud your judgment. Never lose hope and always hold onto the light because once the light runs out, it's a struggle to come back from a loss. Yes, this year may not be perfect, but just hang in there and keep going.

2021 is going to be OURS.

  • YOU IS KIND
  • YOU IS SMART
  • YOU IS IMPORTANT
